So if a customer reports such an incident, it goes no further? They don't ask for a copy of it? It just goes into the statistics.

In my response to the authentic-looking message, I insstructed PayPal to terminate my account. If the person who read it thought I was simply reporting a phenomenon, then PayPal is employing illiterates to read their incoming mail, which makes them dangerous. Vitriolic? I don't think so. Sarcastic? Probably. If they wish their clientele to consist entirely of persons who take such demands in polite stride, then they leave me out, and I wish them luck.

Some time later they wrote to me again, asking me to visit their site to fill out a form about why I wished to terminate (this after I had made it quite clear in my inbreastial email). So I explained it again, quoting the first message. A few days later a second almost identical message came from them, quoting the entire previous correspondence, wondering again why I wished to terminate, and pleading with me to fill out the form so that they could serve their customer base better. If you tell me that there is a dissonance between my personality and theirs, I agree. I wouldn't touch them with a pole.

Their website is amateurishly designed. There is no other explanation for the fact that it paid a seller twice on my behalf for a single purchase.

Note that the phishing message (according to your analysis) that I received came in apparent response to an email I sent them through a supposedly secure form on their website. What does this day about the security of their site?
