Well, you are likely to be about the ten thousand'th person to report it. I imagine about five such phishing scams a day are stopped by my mail filters, and judging by your bluster you fell for it hook line and sinker - it didn't occur to you that it was NOT from paypal. Other suckers are busy lambasting paypal for the scammer's mail ahead of you. Even bigger suckers are giving the scammer their pbuttword.

Indeed, if you used the html that came to you in the mail as the place to "report" it to, you might well have been talking to the scammer.

There's a form for that.

Well, I think they probably have "real" mail to attend to ahead of you! Getting any corp to respond to email is hard, but paypal do do it - I've got them to respond in the past.

And if you scrutinize MY message more carefully, you will see that I am questioning that what you think is the paypal website is indeed the paybal website, and that the...

Uh, you STILL think that paypal send you the "demand"?

Since they didn't send you the demand, I can see their point in ignoring your criticism of them for "sending" (not!) it to you. But they probably read about 5 lines and marked it down as "sucker type 1". Why should they read through a pile of sarcasm and criticism about something that they didn't send you and a policy they don't have?

I think that's probably the best way.

Your email sounds anything but clear. It sounds muddleheaded, written by a person who doesn't know what he is talking about, accusing paypal of things they don't do, didn't do, and have a form for you to report such attempts on.

Well, I'd do that then. They plainly have a button for "ask this guy to add his name to the sucker list at foo".

There is no personality. You are talking to a button.

Looks fine.

Well, sounds like your client did the transaction twice. I would imagine that the DB CANNOT sell the same item twice, so perhaps you bought two? A SB that could sell one thing twice plainly just does not work, and that is not the case, so you are misreporting. I guess you bought two by buying twice.

No it didn't. Such scams hit mailboxes entirely randomly. That your mind has invented a connection to something else merely illustrates that you don't have a good grasp of objective statistical principles.

It frankly says that when faced with a choice of your believing that you are a bliethering idiot or that a secure page checked by all the security experts in the world and used as the basis of electronic commerce is faulty, you believe that the page is faulty, notwithstanding your evident lack of expertise in the matter.
