Please Try and Help Terri...... 4115"Euthanasia" has not entered into this discussion at all. Terri Schiavo is not sick or disabled or "undesirable ethnically, she is missing a brain -- the seat of one's humanity. It is possible that you believe humanity to reside in the heart (most people did, not all that long ago) or the liver, but it is in the brain. Please Try and Help Terri...... 4117 That's against the Hippocratic Oath too (modern version): I will apply, for the benefit of the sick, all measures which are required, avoiding those twin traps of... You are enbreastled to disagree; you are a free man in a free country. I resent the term "pro-life" very deeply, and always have. It implies that others are anti-life, or at least indifferent. It is profoundly insulting. It's also absurd. We are all pro-life. I have tried to read it. The URL presents a message saying that the page cannot be found. Sorry. Beyond my control. What must you think of the entire American judicial system, right up to the Supreme Court? Do you believe the judges and justices to be so sadistic and bloodthirsty that they jump at chances to bring down the gavel and shout "Off with her head"? There has not been an iota of judicial disagreement, from the Florida court of first instance up to the top of the Federal system. Is it all corrupt? Maybe something is awry in the way you are viewing the case. Do you think that is possible?
Please Try and Help Terri...... 4116 I'm pondering, actually, mostly to myself as true ponderers do. Yeah, right. Are you naive? Every single day of God's... Color me obtuse. Without having been present in any of the courtrooms, I feel quite sure that all those judges did not thoughtlessly accept the diagnosis and prognosis of a single physician. At each stage, the bench was convinced that there have been no judicial error, and that sufficient evidence had been presented to justify the decision that was handed down. I do not know what is intended by "venerable age". Nobody, to the best of my knowledge, venerates me; if there is someone that does, I am here to tell him that he is wasting his fragrance on desert air. I have never claimed wisdom. I try my best to use my head, and somehow to live an an ambiguous world where NOTHING is black and white. I don't know how people live in a culture in which independent thought is frowned upon; I would not be able to do it; I have no plans to try. The truth is that terminating life is sometimes the right thing to do. And end, although to be strongly discouraged, is also the right thing to do. These things depend on circumstances; you can't make a blanket rule. As they say, "YMMD". -- Stan Goodman Qiryat Tiv'on Israel All those who believe that the best physicians in France, given two weeks, can't diagnose what ails a patient - please stand up.
