You are not competent to diagnose the condition of anyone, and neither am I. Either you agree that there is a viable principle of medical diagnosis or not, that a persistant, vegetative state is a condition which exists and can be verified scientifically or not. Doctors who treat patients who have been diagnosed as having this condition, and other, similar or equivalent conditions which deprive them permanently of consciousness and volition can, in France, England, the USA and most certainly in other countries throughout Europe and the world, in perfect legality, in conformance with bioethetical principles and at the very least the view of the Catholic Church, cease the artificial ventilation or nourishment of such patients.

I would very much like to see your google link proving that such a thing is punishable and punished by prison time in Germany, as you appear to have implied.

We could make quick progress if you and Peter would state clearly that you do not adhere to the bioethetical principle I have outlined above, or if you do adhere to it, why it would not at all apply to the particular case of Terry, and why this inspires your ire.
