Yep. He's missing the real point too: it isn't his files that he needs to be concerned with, it's the network connections he makes to get them...

Not directly, but this system probably has sudo installed and the sysadmin's 'additional account' probably is probably in (most likely)etc-sudoers with all access.

Yes, except for daemon processes. It is entirely possible that there are people logged in with sudo priviledges, though.

One thing that you have to realize: if the sysadmin is good at his job, he will have better things to do than snoop around in your personal $HOME directory. Unless you've just downloaded a batch of 5gig DVD move images and have managed to totally fill up the thehome file system and no body else can do anything because the disk usage is pinned at 100%. Of course a *good* sysadmin will have set reasonable disk quotas and the system itself will bauk with a 'quota exceded' message if you try this. The sysadmin need not do anything until you complain about exceding your disk quota, in which case he will ask you why you need more disk space...

Think about an apartment building -- yes the building super has a master key, but generally good building supers don't go around snooping tennant's appartments, unless some kind of disaster occurs (like a flood in the bathroom or something or something).

Depends. If regular backups are performed and listings of the backups exist (or can be created), then yes.

If there slocate is installed and the database is updated at regular intervals, then yes. If a file existed the last time slocate's database was updated, but has since been deleted, the filename will be in the slocate database, until the database is next updated.
