Problem adding a local usb printer

Can someone help with a printer question. I have a Cannon i960 printer that I have been trying to add to my new Centos server as a usb printer. I have the printer plugged in and when I do a #lsusb it appears "Bus 001 Device 007: ID 04a9:1088 Cannon, Inc.". I have tried multiple times to use cups by clicking New Then I name the queue click next I proceed to the queue type and select "locally-connected" "Custom Device" and enterdev-usb-lp0. The dialog accepts the custom device and I click next. Then I have been choosing "PostScript" for the driver type ( Note: I have tried Raw with no success also ) and then click next. Then after I click "Finish" I have been clicking yes to print a test page. When I click Yes, either nothing happens and no test page prints on the printer, or I get an error stating "There was a problem sending CUPS test page to "cannon" queue: lpr: error - unable to print file: client-error-not-found". One thing I have noticed is that when I do get the test, to at least not throw that error, a file gets created in thevar-spool-cups directory named something like c00001 etc.

Note: I know that the printer and usb cable is good, since I had this printer just working on my old Red Hat 7.1 server using the device filedev-usb-lp0 and driver type "PostScript".

I would really appreciate it if anyone could help.

Thanks
