Problems with lircd

I've compiled and installed lircd 0.8.0 for use with a Creative CIMR-100 device but I've having some strange issues.

If I use irrecord to attempt to create a remote configureation file all I ever see is irrecord: unknown code for any remote control I attempt to use (Even if I load the default creative dvd remote conf file).

Problems with lircd 488
On 22 Feb 2006 11:47:59 -0800, Wescotte staggered into the Black Sun and said: Hm. Which lirc* module are you using? If you have the wrong lirc* module modprobed, then you'll...

However I can get Noatun's IR pluggin to work correctly to some degree. I have a programable remote (Pioneer AXD7248) that in the past I set all the buttons from the Creative PC-DVD remote to. And I'm able to use the PC-DVD conf file to control Noautn. However the actual PC-DVD remote doesn't work.

I know it's reciving a singal from both because when I hit a button during irrecord I get a unknown code error for both devices and in KDE the IRKick icon flickers when I hit any button on any of my remotes.

Any ideas what's going on here?

BTW, I'm not exactly sure how irrecord is supose to work. I buttume you run it with a filename to generate a config file for that remote and simply press all the buttons you want to map and then edit it later to buttign names? Is my buttumption correct?

Thanks Eric
