Questions from somebody who has never used Linux 7481Steve Hi Steve! Questions from somebody who has never used Linux 7482 On 12 Nov 2006 06:22:10 -0800, Steve Is that system to be linux only or dual boot, (windows and linux) Pretty... Your second PC is more than enough to run linux. Don't be scared. Installing linux hardly ever causes the machine to burst into flames and if it does, you can always fall back to your other PC. Ubuntu is very popular these days and is well supported on-line. Since you already have the CD, why not give it a try? If you've got a "live-CD", it will run linux directly from the CD and the PC's memory to give you a fully-functional demo without installing to the hard drive. A bit slower than a real install, since reading the CD is slower than using the HD. You can then do a HD install if you wish. I don't know whether every bit of your hardware will work. Invest a bit of time and find out. There are lots of linux distributions. Most are free to download if you have a fast internet connection. There are also vendors who sell copies on CD or DVD for very little money. Look here: Alas, running linux won't cure your klutzism. But try it anyway. I think you will be pleased. Roby
