RH8.0 boot hangs at 'loadkeys $KEYMAP

Nothing at all as far as I can see.

I tried this and as none of the filesystems are mounted at this point it can't go anywhere. Closest I got was to echo things onto the screen. I did this and changed the 'loadkeys $KEYMAP' to 'loadkeys -v $KEYMAP' - This just showed the first line of what I would expect then nothing else.

I'll do this once I get access to the machine later today.

I had a look and the last entries are from before the machine 'broke' - But none of them are out of the ordinary.

There is nothing I can see that is out of the ordinary.

Done - and no problems show up. This is the way i am doing most of the work on the machine at the moment (booting from a knoppix based distro and mounting the filesystems.)

However, I have got further in the process..... I grabbed the bin directory from another similar machine and put all the files into this machine - once I did that the process got a further, but then failed doingsbin-quotacheck later in the rc.sysinit script (just hangs, no error messages.)

I tried the same with thesbindirectory, but this made no difference.

Where else would you suggest I look? Thanks,
