RTFM 3372John-Paul Stewart I don't know about PSP particularly, but you can do batch jobs like that with GIMP and Photoshop. More than likely he just didn't know about it. RTFM 3373 I would use a tool specially designed for that narrow specialist task. It sounds like it requires visual-hand-eye coordination. So the answer is: I would have to... There's the key. Qualifications. Thank-you. I rarely need to do things "repeatedly in the way to multiple files". I know it's not all you can do, but it seems to be the things that people point to with pride. That and file manipulation (copying, moving stuff around, replacing etc.). But even for that last, I find something like Konquerer or Nautilus a lot easier. I can see the directory structure, and when I've identified what I want to copy or move it's a simple right click menu selection or a drag 'n drop. I used Konqueror the other day to copy the entire contents of myhome directory to another drive in one simple operation. Sure I could have opened a terminal and typed cphome-*shared-home or something, but I could *see* what I was doing without having to remember my entire directory structure and without having to do a bunch of cd's and ls's to remind myself. I just tire of this atbreastude -- which strikes me as more than a bit elitist and condescending -- that the CLI is THE thing and anyone who prefers a GUI is a dumb point 'n drooler. Rod
