I don't do that kind of thing at all nowadays. I moved into more general approximation theory (designing filters is about getting the intended transfer function out of a digital algorithm).

You could, but I guess that you won't. After all, you wouldn't ask to de-redeye anything but a photo of people, would you? And they wouldn't be anywhere but near the center (or the reflection wouldn't go to camera).

I imagine that if the redeye is visible to you, it shows up clearly when mapping in the red. Two red dots nearby, aligned horizontally, on a generally non-red background, locally on a monocolor blob.

Well, if you want to indicate where in the photo the eyes are, so much the better. You can use phrases like "center right", if you like. I'll happily arrange that the phrases are understood.

What is the algorithm?

BTW, there are indeed AI algoriithms that recognize human face positionings. They are used to analyse crowds, such as people on a metro train platform while looking for uspicious behavior.

So I could use one of those.

Peter T. Breuer Optimizing the algorithm by using a less computationally expensive approximation that gives good enough results? Am I close? I would think it would depend more on...

It would be faster not to use it, since I can look at the spatial spectrum in the red looking to see if high frequencies have been clipped (no sharp red dots any more).

Using a computer as the paintbrush. I'm surprised that you don't have an automated program to do it for you, however. You've described a computatonal task.

You'll have to explain yourself more formally. I don't get much of a clue as to what you do like that. I suspect looking for faces, and two red dots in them, and blacking them out is what you do. What "commands" do you use in particular?

On comp.os.linux.misc, in What a nitwit you are! 25 people disagree with you, and one agrees with you, and you think you are right. No wonder you haven't gotten...

I don't - I have no problems with abstract thinking and logic and language.

Well, yes. Obtaining a good result under constraints. Such as the best control of a robot arm movement given the fitted actuators and dampers, and the given number of joints. Or keeping...

I don't try and tell you how to cook a lamb roast using my index finger to point, plus grunts, do I? Why should you expect me to use anything but language to communicate? On the other hand, if you are a simple artisan, looking for improved hand control and eye feedback in your everyday tasks, go for it your way.

Sure she wasn't pulling your leg?

Did she also wear dark glbuttes when she didn't want to be seen?
