I think you are correct. Right now in I have atmp link todev-shm Indev-shm I find the following files and folders:

file:-dev-shm-ssh-hNywNb5174 file:-dev-shm-scrollkeeper-dave file:-dev-shm-orbit-root file:-dev-shm-orbit-dave file:-dev-shm-mcop-dave file:-dev-shm-ksocket-root file:-dev-shm-ksocket-dave file:-dev-shm-kde-root file:-dev-shm-kde-dave file:-dev-shm-hsperfdatadave file:-dev-shm-gconfd-root file:-dev-shm-gconfd-dave file:-dev-shm-dave file:-dev-shm-xmmsdave.0 file:-dev-shm-xauth.loveXLKIgv1 file:-dev-shm-theyreredhot.ogg40787tmp file:-dev-shm-theyreredhot.ogg18802tmp file:-dev-shm-theyreredhot.ogg16810tmp file:-dev-shm-mapping-root file:-dev-shm-mapping-dave

The files "theyreredhot" are left overs from a Robert Johnson CD I ripped several weeks ago.

My fstab looks like this:

# This file is edited by fstab-sync - see 'man fstab-sync' for detailsdev-VolGroup00-LogVol00 ext3 defaults 1 1 LABEL=-boot boot ext3 defaults 1 2 none dev-pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0 none dev-shm tmpfs defaults 0 0 none tmp tmpfs defaults 0 0 none proc proc defaults 0 0 none sys sysfs defaults 0 0dev-VolGroup00-LogVol01 swap swap defaults 0 0dev-hda1 mnt-windows vfat rw,user,umask=0222 0 0dev-sda5 mnt-firewire vfat rw,user,umask=0222 0 0dev-sda6 mnt-miscellaneous vfat rw,user,umask=0222 0 0dev-hdb3 mnt-storage ext3 rw,user,auto 0 3dev-sdb1 mnt-camera vfat rw,user,auto 0 0dev-fd0 mnt-floppy auto rw,user,auto 0 0dev-hdc media-cdrecorder auto pamconsole,exec,noauto,fscontext=systemu:objectr:removablet,managed 0 0

What's your advice on changes to be made?

catzcat vs bzcat do different things... AKA "bzcat is broken
As long as some data is available, a read() call will return that amount of data immediately, even if it is less than the amount requested. Your input block...

TIA

Dave
