I'm using SUSE 10.0 on a notebook that I carry with me all over the world. The computer runs much longer on batteries under Linux than it does under Windows. Skype audio sounds better under Linux than it does under Windows. Office XP runs better under Crossover office than it does natively under Windows XP. Evolution handles all my mail, calenders, contacts and tasks. Printing and scanning took no time at all to set up and they work very well. I have my favorite CD's as OGGS so that I can listen to them when I want. I can play any DVD I want under Linux and the picture quality is much better than under Windows. The Windows DVD player can't even handle the screen resolution 1400x1050 properly. The DVD player has to reduce the resolution to 1024x1068 and it looks poor. I have Realplayer and Totem so that I can display any on-line contents I want. Best of all, I don't have to worry about viruses-trojans-worms etc, because a up-to-date patched SUSE box is immune. All the clock cycles are for me and none are for some spammer that has turned the box into a zombie or some key logger that is sending my personal details to the Russian mafia so that they can sell my idenbreasty to the highest bidder.
