Refund on bundled Windows software 3980Joe Walker When I bought my old computer, I got it from VA Linux systems, and it came with their version of Red Hat Linux 6.0 on it. You could get them to supply the system dual-boot with Windows by paying the retail price for Windows. They just went to a dealer and bought a retail copy for you and installed it. (I did not take "advantage" of that option.) Since VA Linux Systems no longer sells computers, when I needed a new, more powerful machine, I just built this one by buying components (box, power supply, motherboard, processors, RAM, etc.) and put it together myself. Hence, no Microsoftware on this machine either. There are vendors who supply machines with no OS in them, in case you do not feel up to buttembling your own. It is my understanding that it is next to impossible to get a refund for the Microsoftware pre-installed on a machine because of the restrictive licensing terms Microsoft exacts from any hardware vendor who wants to install Windows on the machines they sell. need help with DebianSarge modulessoundcard issues Hi everybody.
