Restart clock problems

I have Asus A7N8X mobo Athlon CPU Debian unstable box. For some time I have following problem(s):

- when I restart, after OS finishes shutting down and "restarting" is written, my monitor goes in standby mode, hdd red light is on, and it just sits like that. If I hit reset button it is the same, red hdd lights up and it just sits there.

I then have to pres and hold on-off button for a few seconds to shut down, wait for half of a minute or so, hit on-off button again, and then it goes into bios setup. I just exit without saving, it than restarts, and I can boot normally.

This is intermittent, it does not happen every time.

- I also noticed that my clock is not working as it should. I had setup a cron job to adjust time, and log shows that time is corrected three and a half seconds every 15 minutes.

My Linux installation crashed this morning . . . not yet sure if's a CPU, power supply, or a hard disk...

I do not knew if that is related, but it might be. Should I replace the battery on the mobo? Or any other suggestions?
