SCSI devices gone after MDK10.1 upgrade udev was: SCSI CDROM not accessible or recognizedAudio CD questions 4438 I have keyed my answers below to your questions. HTH, Cheers, Dave Charles Sullivan Yes, to do this you should edit the meta information which is part... snip Ian, you are right. But now I don't think the card or module are to blame here. I have another system which used to work just fine with an Adaptec SCSI card and two SCSI hard drives. With Mandrake 10.0 that worked fine. But, I've since upgraded to Mandrake 10.1 on that system, and at the same time I powered off the SCSI hard drives since they make more noise than I want. I turned them back on, and I can't access them anymore. Surfing through AOLM archives it looks like Mandrake switched to udev as of MDK10.1 and a number of people have reported SCSI problems with udev, and reported other problems related to missing devices or device name changes. It looks to me that my problem is udev related on both the new LE2005 system with the BusLogic card and also with my MDK10.1 system with the Adaptec card. Tape IO fails on Fedora FC4 after upgrade from RH7.3 Summary: 1) The terminal session hangs when trying to read backups written using tar or cpio on this... How can I get MDK10.1 and LE2005 to play nice with "real" SCSI devices? Can I do this by altering the udev config file(s)? Shouldn't Mandriva take care of this for us? I mean, SCSI support is pretty basic. Sorry for my frustrated tone. It's not intended for anyone on AOLM or COLM. Grr. Thanks.... -- PLEASE post a SUMMARY of the answer(s) to your question(s)!
