SUSE 10: Where does monitor vendor list come from in Monitor Settings SaX2When one uses Yast2-SaX2 to set the monitor and video card settings, when one goes to "Monitor Settings", there displays a list of vendors from which one can choose the vendor and then under the vendor in the second pane, the correct monitor for that vendor... Where does this list of vendors and vendor models come from? I asking because (maybe I'm going about this the wrong way?) I installed SuSE 10 on a laptop and SuSE correctly installed the right monitor settings. I have another SuSE 10 install on a desktop that was installed with an HP L1906 19" flat screen. It too installed with the correct monitor settings, which shows up in the vendor list as vendor "HWP" and monitor "HP L1906". My laptop doesn't have this and I want to hook the 19" flat screen to my laptop docking station as a second monitor. I'd like the "HWP" and "HP L1906" to show up in my vendor settings list, but it does not (on the laptop). I'm thinking it's just got to be a configuration file somewhere in ASCII that I can cut and paste from the one machine to my laptop in the right place and I'm good to go. Anyone?
