Sound Problems with Suse 10Hello! ps o and Process CPU Time Hi Folks, I have a question regarding how `ps -o cputime` reports CPU time for a... I've been running a Suse 10 system quite satisfactorily for quite a while now. I had installed a Hauppauge PVR-150 MCE card along with the ivtv driver. While I knew that the driver worked, I could never get mplayer to work with it. I resolved that this was the weekend on which I was going to get it going. And I did. Now, video capture and display works famously. There's only one problem. Somehow, in mucking around, I seem to have completely hosed all sound capabilities on my machine. I have no idea what I might have done. However, in attempting to rectify the proplem, I've been poking around just about everywhere I can think of. Disk over writing software Important: Don't use any programs related to security, which are not widely known. Don't use any programs related to security, for which there is no source... At one point, thedev-dsp and buttociated files had disappeared. I did a 'MAKEDEV audio' to restore them. Unfortunatlely, things still aren't right. Audacity no longer complains that it can't open thedev-dsp but it seems to neither receive nor output anything. I'm hoping someone might be able to guide me in fixing my problem. One possibility might be to find the one thing I don't know about. The alternative might be to tell me how I can completely reinstall my audio system without having to reinstall the rest of my system. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
