Stop KDE from launching at boot 478Stack Size for a Hi, How can i know the default Stack Size allocated to a Thread in Red Hat Linux 9.0 box. The "ulimit -a" command says that the stack size is unlimited , but am eager... Dances With Crows 3 things though; * Once my User logout occurs (End Session in X) and I'm dropped down to a command line only (No GUI), how would I test whether or not I boot directly into X at bootup if I don't reboot ? Not that I have to or want to reboot often (I seem to have a minor *hotplug* issue upon boot also - pciehp.ko and another .ko related that I suppose I'll start a new thread to address), ...yet that other old OS (win98) is still my Dual Boot. * I really really like the fact this rebooting *mania* is not necessary, as in that 'other' OS, and that I can install and remove Apps at will, without doing so * I'm not well versed in Scripting at all -- and I personally did not want to delve into it until I was completely weened from that 'other' OS. I did not want to learn the 'wrong' way, or proprietary formats. Point is; it's all new to me - and I've been reading the archives and present threads to grasp the idea - but some fundamentals are still missing (like how to even *run* a script -- which is similar to my lack of understanding of CLI 'editor' fundamentals -- as in "which one" to use, how to "save changes", etc) Thanks - I already found out how to get-use --help, use the 'man' pages and 'info' tools, etc...I have some trouble understanding (all) the 'options', and how to use them appropriately sometimes (such as creating a sudoers file). I'm starting to understand package management, albeit s-l-o-w-l-y....but invoking-running scripts is completely new to me.
