This has... Hi ! I am experiencig problem with high load average on a much better hardware than before (when there was average of 2.00). The OS is Debian Stable. The only process involved in this situaton is a FTP server which is proftpd V1.2.10. I comparise both server, the old one which is 2.4Ghz Compaq Desktop 2GB ram, and the new one which is HyperThreaded 3Ghz DL360 Compaq Server 2GB ram and HW SCSI raid. Both proftpd configurations are totally the same, all modules linked with it are the same, traffic is the same (sent to both machine at the same time individually, about 70MB-minute). linux boot problem Hi I use FC4 linux. I tried to build linux 2.4.X. While I was building, I mistakenly overwritten... But no matter that load average is 13.00, response time of the new Server is still much faster than the old one, so difference in speed is very high (giving points to server). The only thing bothering me is a high load average number.
