Suppress iso9660 version number in mounted CDROMOn 4 Aug 2005 01:03:49 -0700, fredbob staggered into the Black Sun and said: Include context when you post to Usenet. That never-to-be-sufficiently-damned Google Alpha news client doesn't make that easy, but there's a way to make it behave properly. Context restored: Sure. We often have to deal with data that's been excreted by idiots. Why is uppercase necessary, though? Most of the time, lowercase (as provided by normal iso9660 with map=n) is easier to read. In extremis, you could mount the thing normally and cp everything to disk and tr 'a-z' 'A-Z' every filename. Or mount with map=o, cp everything to disk, and s-;1$-every filename. Er, it's the iso9660 kernel module that doesn't do what you want, not mount. mount basically pbuttes options to the mount() syscall, which is an interface to the kernel modules that actually mount filesystems. See above paragraph. It should be possible to modify the iso9660 code to do what you want here. Heck, I think it's easy enough so that *I* could do it, and I am not a kernel hacker. I guess that nobody's done almost all ISO9660 filesystems have Rock Ridge or Joliet these days.
