Surfing the net with Firefox under Fedora 3 VERY SHOW
John Strazzarino I am on a dial-up connection running RHEL 3.
It took about 2 seconds by watching the clock at the lower right of my panel for 'looking for www.cnn.com' to come up, at most 3 more seconds to resolve that (too fast to actually see it) and a total of 25 seconds before the entire window was displayed.
My resolver resolves this pretty fast:
$ dig www.cnn.com

so I imagine it is much faster than I said, above, and the times are more my reaction times and the granularity of the clock (1 second).
