Suse 10.1 and QLogic SAN problems 2748Bryan What about the rest of the SAN (Storage Area Network). You say "the san is a QLogic 2300", but the QLogic is just an HBA (Host Bus Adapter) that you use to connect to the rest of the SAN (storage arrays, fibre channel switches, etc.). So what's the rest of your setup? Is there a switch in the SAN? If so, is it configured with "LUN masking" which might prevent your QLogic card from seeing the rest of the SAN. What type of storage array is on the SAN? Is it already configured to make one or more LUNs available to the host with the QLogic card? The drives from the SAN (if they're properly exported by the array) should be visible asdev-sd??. If you have no other SCSI (or SATA or USB or Firewire) drives, then the first SAN volume will bedev-sda1, otherwise the first SAN volume will be one greater than your highest existingdev-sd? device (e.g., if you have up todev-sdf, the SAN volume will bedev-sdg1, ...). Suse 10.1 and QLogic SAN problems 2749 Sorry, not enough info. The san itself is an EMC, which has its own switch. It is being used... What do you see when you do 'dmesg grep -i qlogic' and-or 'dmesg grep -i scsi'?
