No you wouldn't. Where does your logic come from? Just try a different POP client.

As much difference as there is between loveshop client and barbershop client. The two are different things. They talk different...
It's in subject of this post - gmail uses POP.
Read the manpage of whatever you use to remove your misconceptions (first). With fetchmail you would use -k to KEEP your mail on the server.
Let me try to explain my problem a little bit better. I do not want to keep my mail on gmail servers.
Say I've received at gmail account mail 1, 2 and 3. I startup SC, click "Get Mail". Mail 1 and 3 are retrieved, but mail 2 stays at gmail server without me knowing that it exist (I can only see it when I login via Firefox browser). Now mail 4 and 5 arrive at my gmail account. SC may retrieve both of them, none or one.
What I want is to get all five mails on my PC, and leave none on gmail servers.
This is the best that I can explain my problem. Any suggestions?
