As much difference as there is between loveshop client and barbershop client.

The two are different things. They talk different languages (in general). What you really mean is some sort of gui that does both (and more) protocols. That's not very usual - only netscape-mozilla etc that I know of do it, but then I use elm, which only does files. I have heard that pine can do pop and-or imap, but I don't know.

Usually a POP client is used to transfer the mail to your local system, where it is stored locally. Then a mail client (or mail user agent, to give it its proper name) reads the mail and allows you to manipulate it.

An alternative is to use an IMAP client, which talks to an IMAP server, and which can manipulate the mail remotely. Your MUA may or may not have IMAP capabilities.

As much difference as between a prosbreastute's client and a bank's client.

Oh, I see! Apologies. I don't see the subject as I pbutt from post to post. Please put pertinent info inside (the subject is like a newspaper headline - the story must hold up on its own; check how your newspaper does it).

Then don't. So what are you worried about? Fetch it over with fetchmail.

Then do so. Try a different pop client. Why do I have to repeat myself? It's not a brain bender!
