Or it was behind a masqueraded DSL modem and he didn't want to go through the bother or the pain of connecting it directly all the time and have to worry about every damn exploit or be responsible for running yet another unix zombie. Running an insecure unix is as bad or worst than running a windows machine so I won't connect to the internet directly until I am willing to make the modicum of effort to make sure nobody uses it to do bad things...I'm a lazy git when I am not at work and so I just depend on the NAT blocking everything.

Hmm...for someone not trying you seem to have done a rather decent job of it. Of course you didn't find my actual computer and can't (NAT again), but whatever...you found my place of work.

Yep, I use google to post when at work because it is easier than trying to find a decent free usenet server or setting one up without authorization. I even use it when posting from my Linux workstation. At home, where I have access to my ISP's server is of course a different matter, but they don't allow external use and that is a good thing.

I also use google form my email. I got sick of having to resubscribe every damn time I was required to change email due to leaving my ISP. So I got a web based email and it is better than standard email so far by a long shot. Google is a reputable service and I use it.

And yep, I install unix shells on Windows XP because they are more powerful than cmd.exe. The first thing I do to any Windows workstation is make it act as close to unix as possible so I can actually be productive. I install Xemacs, mingw, msys, and msys-dtk. You can run both unix commands and XP shell commands from the bash that comes with msys. Eventually I will figure out what I need to do to bypbutt using VS to write .NET programs and I can get my life back.

Anyway, you may want to consider why nobody listens to you when you call people trolls. Have a nice day.
