How is VXML different from regular XML? (Logging using XML = a really inefficient idea in most cases.)

Why am I not surprised?

Well, yeah, most log analysis tools are there for the most commonly-used apps. If the logfiles are in a custom format that very few people use, it's highly unlikely that you'll find a ready-made script sitting on freshmeat or sourceforge.

The question isn't just open-ended; it's ill-defined. Does this logfile format have a name? Is it widely used, or custom? Provide a sample line (or record, if this logfile doesn't do "one line = one record") from this file. It'd probably be reasonably easy to put something together in Perl (using XML::Parser if really necessary) that'd do what you want. Thing is, you need to specify what it is that you want and what the input data looks like before it's possible to build anything.
