Trying to get Pan compiled and working in Fedora core 4

Hi,

I installed Fedora core 4 2.6 with no prob with a dual boot via grub for XP. I checked out www.fedoraforum.org and noticed fedora 4 is now legacy. I have the install disks for fedora 5 and was going to install that, but there were no instructions in the magazine for dual booting core 5. Perhaps I should have followed FC4's instructions for dual booting and applied them to FD C 5. I did try FC 5 first but anyway . . .

I downloaded the tarball for Pan and found I had to download gtk+-2 as well as atk and pango, did that and place them in the right place for *.pc files so pkgconfig

I got to this point ( I posted this to www.linuxquestions.org) . . . Thanks for your help, I had to download gtk+-2.0 from an ftp site, when I ran it I found I had to also download and install the Pango, and Atk libraries as well and use the infor you gave me to ;locate their .pc files as well. I found it easier jsut o move these to-usr-lib-pkgconfig.

THIS REALLY REALLY WORKS!!!!!!!!!!! GET RICH FAST FOR REAL THIS TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I found this on a bulletin...

I ran .-configure for gtk=-2.0.5 and got no errors, however whn I tried to run 'make' as it says to do below in the documentation for this I get:

make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.

So I have gone as far as my limited knowledge will take me.

If someone could help my thanks will be many.

Simple install procedure ========================

% gzip -cd gtk+-2.0.5.tar.gz tar xvf - # unpack the sources % cd gtk+-2.0.5 # change to the toplevel directory % .-configure # run the `configure' script % make # build GTK Become root if necessary % make install # install GTK

What do I have to do next with reagrd to "make" to get gtk going and ultimately Pan ? Would I get all these *.pc not found problems had I installed Fedora core 5 to begin with? If so what is the best compatibale version of Pan for Fedora core 5?
