URGENT ! how to get files that have been deleted by rmChanging Systems On MultiBoot Machine I installed Kubuntu, multi-boot, no problem. Grub works like a charm. Now I create a DVD image of the installed Kubuntu... CUPS problem, slow printing Hi all, I've encountered a strange problem with CUPS that I've not been able to solve neither by myself, nor by googling or...
Oh, Ihatethat. The latest version of Konqueror no longer (when in file browser mode) allows me to delete files, only move them to 'trash'. Hello! When I delete things it's because Iwantto delete things, and I don't want some stupid piece of nanny software getting in my way. rm means 'kill it dead, Ineverwant to see it again'. And that's the way (uh-huh, uh-huh) I like it. Oh, and, yes, I have accidentally deleted my whole system before. That was back in 1985, on a Xerox 1108 Dandelion. I was on the phone to support, who were talking me through a complex piece of microcode debugging. 'And now you need to reload the microcode' said the guy on the other end of the phone. 'I think it's number 8 on your menu'. Muggins presses 8, without checking. Computer says, 'do you really want to reformat your hard disk? y-n'. Muggins presses 'y' without really thinking. Guy on the other end says, 'have you done that?'. Errrr... I don't plan on doing it again any time soon. On the other hand I did once have the great joy of typing 'rm -rf' on a machine we were decommissioning. That was quite fun. -- Das Internet is nicht fuer gefingerclicken und giffengrabben...
