NOTE: the package repositories (available by using either the commandline above or using the native package manager - I have no idea what this is for Gnome, as I don't use it) list what you already have installed and what is available from local and WAN repositories - which are configurable from the commanline or within the UI. Dual Boot for Fedora Core 5 and Windows the easy way As time goes by, the linux installations have been getting better about picking up other parbreastions that have other O-Ss installed (like BSD, Winblows, etc). But I recently did... Try Kaffeine or other media player (such as Noatun or even XMMS). Rhythmbox does NOT ship with mp3 codec support because of legal issues; this is why it is included in the Ubuntu repository and Kaffeine isn't. You can, however, download and install GStreamer packages with mp3 support from the apt repository, to give you mp3 functionality. Check your backend (this is either Xine or GStreamer). Check what codecs you have installed. For minimum functionality, you need the following as well: Gnome 2.10 GStreamer 0.8.8 with plugins v0.8.7 or GStreamer 0.10 or xine-lib 1.0 Gromit 20041213 for the Telestrator mode libdvdcss for DVD playback. Last but not least - check out the Linux Documentation Project at posted! HTH -- When all else fails... Use a hammer. Some people are like Slinkies; They serve no particular purpose, But they bring a smile to your face When you push them down the stairs.
