Vcommerce is looking for a bright and ambitious Linux EXPERT who is willing to do what it takes to get it done in a fast paced high growth company.

Position buzzwords include (but are not limited to) Linux, Cisco networking, PIX, Local directors, web load balancing, EMC Clariion SAN NAS, Apache, Postfix, BIND, Nagios, Snort, Tomcat, Resin, PostgreSQL, mySQL, Oracle, ftp, smtp, Samba, Sterling GIS, LAN-WAN, Java, racking, stacking, cabling, you name it. We are a very small team of developers and administrators looking for another team member with growth potential. We do not require experience with everything listed above, but we do require extensive experience with Linux and-or Solaris.

Responsibilities include: á Share ownership of Linux servers in two data centers Share 24-7 pager rotation with other team members á Manage the ordering, receiving, and installation process for new hardware á Support the technology team in application deployments á Enterprise-wide backups

Required Skills and Experience: á 5++ years system administration with Linux-Unix á Experience with scripting tools such as Perl, shell scripting á Operating Systems (Solaris x86-Sparc, Linux & NFS) á Hardware (SAN-EMC Clariion, Commodity x86 hardware) á Software (Apache, Tomcat, ftp, smtp) á Understanding of high-availability architectures á Proven ability to implement data security standards and performance and capacity planning á Strong negotiation skills and ability to effectively resolve conflicting priorities from multiple internal customers. á Strong decision-making skills, take charge personality, and the ability to drive a plan to completion while still being a team player

Desired Skills: á Networking (Cisco networking, Information security, Web load balancing) á Application servers (JBossJoramWeblogic) á Java and-or other development experience a very strong plus á Database support (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle)
