VMWindows backdoor 1470VMWindows backdoor 1471 General Schvantzkoph From the millions of infected windows boxes on the Internet. You appear to be either...
Just curious about the details of how you caught that infection. It never fails to amaze me that there are so many avenues for infecting a Windows machine. When I talked about direct connections I meant on the same LAN or via a VPN, I didn't think that doing an update from a trusted site could do any damage. But if you say it happened to you I'll believe you. My girlfriend is a software architect at IBM. IBM has their systems as locked down as much as any company in the world. All of their systems are loaded down with tons of security software, to the point where the boxes are crippled. There is spyware on all of the systems which makes sure that every system is fully patched and that nothing has been loaded on them that didn't come from the proper sources. There are sophisticated routers that detect rogue behavior and cutoff any system they suspect has been infected. In spite of all this a worm got loose in her facility a few months ago and not only infected a bunch of machines at IBM but also infected her home system via the VPN.
