Vector Linux & USB ADSL modem problems 4770

Hi guys. I've settled on Vector Linux 4.3 for my old P3-866MHz comp with 128MB of RDRAM. It is really fast, and I like the distro a lot! Red Hat 9 was really slow because my low RAM made the O-S have to page to the HD all the time.

Anyway, I've been trying to install my Sagem Fast 800 USB ADSL modem on it. I'll be posting for help at the eagle-usb.org forum but it's mostly French and the last time I posted there no one responded :-(
