Wacom tablet is this normal

Sounds like a USB-related kernel problem. Hm... I've seen strange messages at times on the rare occasions when I've rebooted my desktop, but I didn't think any of them were related to the USB Graphire I had plugged in.

?? What is usbhid doing receiving input from the Wacom tablet? Wacom tablets are usually controlled with the "wacom" module. Well, if the Intuos3 is significantly different from other Intuos models and its IDs aren't in the wacom module, usbhid might grab it.

First thing I'd try is a vanilla 2.6.10 kernel. Mandrake (and SuSE, and Redhat, and Gentoo, and $DISTRO...) put patches in the kernels they ship. IME, these patches make the kernel less stable and less functional. YMMV, but at least 2.6.10 is newer than 2.6.8. ISTR seeing some reports from people who were trying to burn CDs with 2.6.8 and failing miserably, but that may have been 2.6.7 or 2.6.9. I can report that CD-burning works fine with 2.6.10 *iff* you don't use ide-scsi emulation and pbutt "dev=ATA:X,Y,Z" to cdrecord-cdrdao. HTH,
