Web get command wget to download all iconspics on a web page too large orOn 4 Aug 2006 10:43:53 -0700, poddys staggered into the Black Sun and said: How do I remove nonempty directories automatically Hi. Back in my DR-DOS days, I had a utility called DELDIR available which could be... When using that never-to-be-sufficiently-damned "G2" excuse for a to make it at least try to do the right thing. Context restored: It always surprises me when people put stuff on the WWW and then try to make sure it's viewed in exactly the way they think it should be viewed. The WWW depends on standard protocols that are fully described in RFCs! Check Referer headers all you want, somebody's going to find a way around that. Good thing, too, since otherwise the WWW would be full of unskippable 10-minute anti-copying ads, unskippable previews for things you're not interested in, and "You can't view this page if you're outside of region N". Well, these things *exist*, but they're not pervasive yet. (Give the bastards 10 years, and they might be.) Plaigarism is the sincerest form of flattery? Well, if your bandwidth bill was going up from the images, you could always check the Referer. If it wasn't your site (or blank), requests for image001.jpg return stolenimage.jpg (or tubgirl.jpg!). The article I saw recently at do something similar but related. Or something--adjust to taste. barb never stated what barb was doing with the images. It's a legit and semi-interesting question, though, regardless of what the final purpose is. Too bad there's nothing in wget that does what barb wants. barb will have to either hack wget or write a small script to remove all files between sizes X and Y after wget's finished. -- Matt GThere is no Darkness in Eternity-But only Light too dim for us to see Brainbench MVP for Linux Admin mail: TRAP + SPAN don't belong ----------------------------- penguins, is Tux." --MegaHAL
