When Longhorn release, Linux got end. 3496Jose Maria Lopez Hernandez Well, look at it from their perspective: management has promised, hold our breath and hope to die, double-dog sure, this *will*, by all that is holy, be the gosh-darndest most secure, trouble-free piece of miracle-ware the world has ever seen. We know they have been suffering through crashes and bugs, struggling their way toward the holy grail, but with Mac OS X already spinning up across the world and Linux chugging along and replacing many a Microsoft labeled server, they really have to say a final prayer and put this out on the table soon. But.. if the pitiful thing doesn't live up to its promise, if it's cranky and doesn't play well in the real world, if it causes some stupid unforeseen problem with a Big App, or if a thirteen year old kid cracks its doors and robs it blind within a month of its blushing debut, well, they will look like horses buttes, won't they? When Longhorn release, Linux got end. 3497 imo wrote (in part): I really do not see that, e.g., Windows XP is more user friendly and more efficient than current releases of Linux. I have Windows XP Home on... How would *you* like to be responsible for signing off on this reputation threatening piece of garbage? You know the reality of programming even if the moron marketing droids don't. You've seen the unexpected crashes, you know how frigging complex this puppy is, and it scares you. Worse, you really suspect that there may be Linux loving imposters in the ranks, devious moles singing the company song, but cleverly inserting little "oopsies" in your code.. you don't sleep well any more, and the Purple Pill isn't near enough to calm your heartburn. You know you are damned if you do, and damned if you don't.. I love it :-) -- Tony Lawrence
