Where are KDE desktop icon labels stored

I ask here because I tried everywhere else, including #kde.

I run Kanotix. I have 2 other parbreastions.

On desktop my other parbreastions have hard-disk icons with labels... like "sdb3 debian". This is correct. Where does this label come from. It is NOT right-click-properties. It is not from fstab. Where is this icon label encoded?

I doubt that this is a debian patch. Debian is more of a gnome distro and I doubt they do much in the way of tweaking KDE. I asked on the #debian and #kanotix and #kde channels and no one answered. I googled Usenet and the only answer I found was to delete the icons and create new ones with the labels I want... which I'm sure will work, but does not answer my inquiry.

I do a right-click on the desktop hard-disk icon it says 'sdb3' in properties. But it displays "sdb3 debian" on the desktop. I can't figure it out!

Somewhere in the bowels of KDE is some file that contains the labels for the icons. It's not the .desktop file but I'll bet I'm close.

Seems this hardware is used in several brands of converters. Appears to be pretty good. Note...

Driving me nuts!!! :-) I hate not knowing basic simple stuff.

Anyone have an idea?

Thanks,

Al
