Which HDD to chooseI have an option to get one (for free) one of the two hdd-s (80GB WD and 80GB Maxtor). Can anyone please help me with making the choice. First one (hde - WD) has 8MB cache while the other one (hdg - Maxtor) has 2MB. That seems the only difference that I can notice. But hdparm test shows slightly better results for the second one (hdg - Maxtor) with less cache. Test was performed on old BX mobo with UDMA-66 controller. My box is Asus A7N8X nVidia nForce2 - UDMA-133, and results may be different. It looks like WD is UDMA-100, while Maxtor is UDMA133. Is that correct? I can not take both home and do performance test, I have to make decision which one to get on the spot. Can you help me make the choice?
