Which Linux 2243On Wed, 26 Jul 2006 04:11:26 -0700, Alfredo There are several Linux distributions that will load and run from a MS parbreastion, but I don't recommend it, because they are not really fully featured. Best recommendation is to pick a modern Linux distro (something near the top of the 'hit page rankings' at distrowatch.com). When installing this, you will have the opportunity to resize and reparbreastion (it's good to defrag first and make a backup). A lot of people install Linux with two parbreastions - a swap parbreastion and a root (or) parbreastion. Other folks use more - I suggest you keep it simple to start with. You could also try a Live CD or two before you take the plunge. A Live CD (Knoppix even has a Live DVD) will boot and run from the CD without any install - it won't touch the hard disk. My favourite Live CDs are Knoppix and Elive. Which Linux 2244 General Schvantzkoph IMHO, no it's not. I personally never use ahome parbreastion. This is true, but there's no rule which says you must... I have installed to about a dozen or so machines that had MS already installed - I've never had a problem. Modern distros will detect whatever systems are installed and set up a boot menu so you can choose at boot time which system to use. It's really quite easy and quite safe.
