Mike Cox When they do, I'll ask them to aim carefully; I don't want to get wet. Seriously, I supported people's dial-up Internet connection on various flavors of Windows...

Hi. if you are looking for icons on your desktop, you can simply add them yourself by right-clicking on the desktop, selecting 'create new' then 'Link to Application'. This will give you a window where you can enter the information for the link. The general tab will let you select the icon probably there is one somewhere in the folder containing your application. and also the name. then go to the Application tab and all you really need here is to enter the path to your application in the line labled command. For instance,usr-local-bin-'yourapplication'.

Mike Cox Comes in handy, yanno? Particularly given the love of Flash that a lot of webmasters seem to have...

If in fact you want to add a link to the K menu, just right click on it and select 'menu editor'. You will open the menu editor window where you can change, remove, or add anything you want.

This is a very minor thing once you get into Linux more, you will understand that there isn't a lot of hand holding done by your OS, such is the case with windows, where everything seems to magically do itself. Linux. on the other hand will allow you much more control over what is going on, good luck. Dan L
