Win2k3, Samba, cifs, wierdnessI have finally managed to mount a share on a 2k3 server but it is behaving very odly. When I ls the contents at the mountpoint I get a logical set of directories, then I ls the contents of one of those directories and I get the same set as the mountpoint had. If I continue down the recursive path eventually I get a permission denied error and then not only cannot I ls what is in the mountpoint without a premission denied error, but the mountpoint doesn't even show up in a ls of the parent directory because I once agaidn get a permission denied error!! 0o Apparently I don't even have permission to see the directory's name in its parent?! I didn't know that was even possible. I am using the correct uname-pbuttwd-domain. Here is smb.conf: realm = STMARTIN.EDU workgroup = OLDMAIN security = ads encrypt pbuttwords = yes server signing = mandatory client signing = mandatory mount -t cifs -o username=me,pbuttword=mypbutt,domain=OLDMAIN-server-dfsmnt-floppy Using a U.S. Robotics Fax modem with Slackware 10.0 3921 Are you SURE it never connects? Of course it does - the Hayes command set is perfectly well documented and has been for years. If your modem does any extra extensions it... I have tried no domain, and with domain=stmartin.edu with same results....recursive view of of share. Thanks for any help...
