X Gui window creation problem

Hi-

I'm mostly unfamiliar with troubleshooting the workings of X. We recently set up a new Dell box running RH 3.0. Kernel version is 2.4.21-27.0.2.ELsmp. One of our software packagesis a batch scheduling system which allows definition of batch job queues with various characteristics and scheduling features. The software also has a nice GUI that allows monitoring of the jobs in each of these queues. We typically leave a monitoring window open for each of 4 job queues all the time and jobs are scheduled for virtually all of the 24-7 time period. But sometime around 11:39pm the GUI's die with the following error:

X Error of failed request: BadIDChoice (invalid resource ID chosen for this connection) Major opcode of failed request: 1 (XCreateWindow) Resource id in failed request: 0x18037fa Serial number of failed request: 6059145 Current serial number in output stream: 6059148

The message & console logs don't show much. We tried to isolate the problem by leaving only 1 of these windows open over night, hoping a culprit would be unmasked, but regardless of which of the 4 queue monitoring windows are left open, things run fine and the window is still open when we arrive at work the next morning. However- leaving any two of the windows open results in the above error. Any ideas?
