XF86ConfigDriversHey all, I'm returning to RedHat (partially) after a long stint with Windows, and I'm trying to refamiliarise myself with it. I'm getting on alright in the shell, but I want to jump into the GUI part. Now, I've tried "startx", and originally it gave me an error about no screens found, which I traced back to the fact I was in the wrong init level (yes, you're right, I have been away for a *loooooooong* time). Now though, when I "init 5" to enable my GUI, I get a screen which is obviously trying to be there, but is using the wrong driver (it's like the top left hand corner of the GUI, stretched out all over the place). Now, when I installed RH, it selected an S3 Trio as the card type. I have an Nvidia Vanta card but it wasn't in the list so I just went with the defaults. So, my question is, what can I put in the "driver" section of XF86Config to get my card to work, *or*, if it's easier, is there a programme I can run under RH to get back to the video card selection screen - I'm sure at the time it said that I could, with one command or another. Apologies for the simplicity of the problem, but I've trawled the net and I'm stuck like glue. TIA, DSt. XF86ConfigDrivers 3914 On 21 Jun 2005 06:35:45 -0700, synex staggered into the Black Sun and said: easy, but it's considered good manners to include some context from previous...
