Little help needed with FT2232L USB demo board
Hi, I have hit a bottleneck while using FIFO interface mode of FTDI FT2232L USB demo board, which i plugged into my linux box...

There were some power outages yesterday and my pc rebooted a couple of times. That must have left some stale files or something. All seems ok, till I try to exit gnome. (I boot in runlevel 3, then startx).

I can exit X with Ctrl-Alt-Backspace. That, however prevents gnome from starting again, because of some files-sockets it leaves behind intmp (those I'm aware of, it happened before, I deleted them and was able to start gnome again).

Sun says not ECC error. What do you think

While the confirmation dialog hangs, everything else functions properly (though I'd like the hole thing to shut down). I can force the dialog to close by clicking several times on the x, then the session resumes as nothing happened.

I moved all my dot files (except .bash*) in a temporary directory, I deletedtmp-.ICE-unix-*tmp-gconfd-usertmp-orbit-usertmp-mapping-user andtmp-X0-lock and I am able to start gnome again, but, as I said, can't log out. These are all the files I know about.

Oh, yeah, and firefox freezes rock solid on some sites (e.g. www.cnn.com), though this might be java related (or again gnome).

Any suggestions anybody? I'm pulling hairs here.
