comparing suse 10 to fedora core 45 1505Dan C All OSes suck. The only difference is that one sucks more than the other at different times. When needed the most, like people, OSes differ too. Anyway, SuSE 10 and Fedora Core 4-5 are both good Linux distributions. It all depends on what you want to do with them. I prefer SuSE over FC if I were installing it on a desktop used by new-relatively new Linux users. FC wont be that bad either. If you are looking at servers and installing only stuffs important to you, better look at forums and see how good a support the community is providing. In my area of computing, I see more people using FC than SuSE, so my preference is FC on servers. Inter-departmental work demands SuSE as the other parties understand SuSE better. DHS CLUB Dear friend By joining this company, you have two advantages : You can make business and money internationally, working from home through internet, creating your own business. You can save money when purchasing in special prices... Grub Error 18 My one hard drive was set up with a windows xp install, a windows xp 64 install, and a debian 3.1... So the term "better" is relative and depends on what you need from a distribution. I'd suggest going with SuSE if you like point and click more than typing commands. If you are a terminal-person, use FC. By far, both these distributions can be graphically rich and used through terminal. I dont like how SuSE prefers administrators to use Yast2 more. At times Yast2 gets things done quicker; reminds me of Windows 2003 and Windows GUI (its helpful, believe it or not). Ever thought of CentOS for servers? Its more or less similar to RHEL. Yellow Dog, Vector, PCLinuxOS seem to be fun too -- again, depends on your applications. Debian stands strong as an old & sturdy distribution (Ubuntu and many other are based on Debian). Debian has lots of packages but their new products roll out very slow. Chirag Shukla
