configure 7476Questions from somebody who has never used Linux Hi Guys and Guyesses, As the breastle says, I have never used Linux before, even though I have heard good things...
I defined it to be . and then created the subdirectory sources and moved gtk+-2.8.20.tar.bz2 into it. Then I executed: export PKGCONFIG=-home-allan-PIC-LINUX-pkg-config-0.20-pkg-config sh gtkscript (i.e. Baho Utot's script) and watched it get this far, which is the furthest anything has gotten so far: checking pkg-config is at least version 0.9.0... yes configure 7477 For some reason, linuxfromscratch isn't responding right now. However, I do have source for gtk+extra-2.1.1 in my directoryhome-allan-PIC... No package 'glib-2.0' found No package 'atk' found No package 'pango' found No package 'cairo' found Consider adjusting the PKGCONFIGPATH environment variable if you installed software in a non-standard prefix. Alternatively, you may set the environment variables BASEDEPENDENCIESCFLAGS and BASEDEPENDENCIESLIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the pkg-config man page for more details. I'm now downloading pango-1.14.0.tar.gz from ftp:--ftp.gtk.org-pub-pango-1.14. I'm not sure about glib, atk and cairo. The pkg-config-0.20 I had downloaded earlier has a glib earlier than 2.0. I'll see if I can find a more recent one. Alternatively, maybe I can find an older gtk source that doesn't want such a recent glib, etc., and modify your script to use the older gtk source. I don't know about the BASEDEPENDENCIES stuff, e.g. whether it makes life harder or easier, nor even what it is. -- Ignorantly, * Disclaimer: I am a guest and *not* a member of the MIT CSAIL.
