I would guess that manhandling your eth0-setup is NOT the right path to go. What makes you think that the PC should handle the ADSL protocol? From what I can see at the box gives you an ADSL-plug, 4 Ethernet plugs and the usual power, USB control&config (buttumed: Win-only programs is present if at all) and misc. other undecipherable plugs and whatsit's. The picture leads me to believe that what you need to do is to get into the setup on the box - either 1) via one of the ethernet plugs (which I buttume to belong to some built-in switch or hub) and some browser connecting to whatever IP-address the box might have(xx) or 2) via the USB plug and buttociated Win-software. Then you set up the various items in what menus you might meet in there and you should be good to go. I had an old ISDN-router. That did NOT make it necessary for me to run any ISDN-aware things on any of the boxes connected to it - pure Ethernet on the 'inside'. My current ADSL box works as described too.
