cups problem 1826

OK, so there is some problem with those individual files that cups is having trouble converting them. cups runs filters for the various file types.

NOOOOO. Do not say "says something about" Why not just post the EXACT error message. You have no idea what is going wrong, so why in the world do you believe that you know what the important info in that error message is? Tell us the exact error messages. Copy and past, do not type them in so we see them exactly.

Apparently your filter is having trouble with some of those jpeg files. And no, that jpeg file may not be OK. Just because you can view them from your windows machine does not mean they are OK. Windows has bugs and sometimes those bugs allow it to read out of spec files, and manufacturers of files then use those bugs. Can you read it using say xv or ee on Linux? What does gimp say about it?

cups usesetc-cups-mime.types to identify the file andetc-cups-mime.conv to identify the program to convert the files. Your error message which we do not know seems to say that it is having problems either identifying the file or in converting the file.

The program used isusr-lib-cups-filter-imagetops You could try using it directly on the file to see if further error messages are produced.

How about putting one of the problem jpegs onto the web so that we can try them ourselves. Of course do not put something that has any proprietary company info on it.
