debugging udevHack The Planet, PhotoShop is The Ultimate Music Creation Tool!! 2397 Hey um...I'm not sure if anyone bothered to mention this to you or not...but looking like a stupid f***ing retard is NOT trolling...then again, maybe that wasn't... Hi all, I'm following the instructions here to get the firmware loaded into my midisport usb device (opensuse 10.1 , ran all the updates) : After running 'make install' I get the following line inetc-udev-rules.d : 42-midisport-firmware.rules Editingetc-udev-rules.d-42-midisport-firmware.rules shows me: # MidiSport 2x2 ACTION=="add", SUBSYSTEM=="usb", DEVPATH=="-*.0", ENV{PRODUCT}=="763-1001-*", RUN+="-sbin-fxload -susr-local-share-usb-maudio-MidiSportLoader.ihx -Iusr-local-share-usb-maudio-MidiSport2x2.ihx" The .ihx file does exist,sbin-fxload -v shows ' May 1 2006 (development) ' and I can see the usb device via lsusb: Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0763:1001 Midiman Midisport 2x2 Hack The Planet, PhotoShop is The Ultimate Music Creation Tool!! 2396 Is "Corey White" Trackers real name or something? -- Onideus Mad Hatter mhm Õ x Õ Hatter Quotes ------------- "I'm not a professional, I'm an artist." What should happen upon firmware upload I believe is that the ID should change to 0763:1002 and then the led's on the midisport should light up. The machine is dual boot and the midisport works under windows as expected. After all this, I get nothing, nor any signs of life undervar-log or dmesg on reboot. My question is now, how can get debug info from udev or fxload to figure out what it is or isn't doing with myetc-udev-rules.d-42-midisport-firmware.rules ? Robert
