dual processors and linux 1772dnoyeB I guess you never saw Windows 2.0 or whatever it was (pre 3.1). I tried programming applications in that, and it was the pits. Many times I though it had crashed, but all that happened was that it was thrashing all the time! It was designed for 16-bit machines and it was really awful. I do not know about religious inspiration, but Divine Revelation would help at times... I do not need Windows (any version) at all, except to run Quicken and TurboTax. I never install Windows on my main machine. In my experience, XP home is somewhat better than Windows 95. It does not crash as much, for example. In the last year or so I have only had to reinstall it once to get around a problem (would get into an endless loop during the boot sequence). When I run Windows, the machine is almost completely disconnected from the Internet. The firewall does not allow incoming messages unless they come in response to outgoing messages. It allows outgoing messages only to a small whitelist of IP addresses that are set to Microsoft update addresses, Intuit update addresses, and AVG update addresses. dual processors and linux 1773 Roy L.
